Our methodology

How Tea Ledger programmes work.

Every Tea Ledger course follows the same underlying structure: begin with personal context, move toward research and analysis, and return to the personal with new clarity. This arc is not rushed. Modules are spaced to allow what has been discussed to settle before the next layer is added.

In practice, this means early sessions involve more writing and personal reflection; middle sessions involve more group discussion and research content; later sessions bring these together into something individually useful rather than generically informative.

Reviewing the stories carried about money from earlier life
Recognising patterns of decision-making under low and high stress
Building a weekly practice of quiet financial awareness
No spreadsheets or apps required — attention is the tool

Behavioural Patterns in Midlife Finance

A six-week programme drawing on accessible behavioural research to help midlife learners notice the patterns that most affect their financial decisions. The programme emphasises awareness as a form of protection rather than technique as a form of control.

What you will cover

Loss aversion — how the weight of loss distorts otherwise sound thinking
Anchoring — the role of the first number seen in shaping all subsequent judgements
Mental accounting — how money gets sorted into imaginary compartments
Local Hong Kong household finance illustrations throughout
